Faulkner and Mobile locked in a defensive battle with the two teams combining for eight hits in game 10 of the SSAC Softball Championship Friday afternoon in Decatur, Ala. but leadoff hits coupled with sacrifices and steals handed the Rams a 3-0 victory in the winner's bracket contest. 

Mobile opened the scoring in the first with a leadoff hit from Emily Fleetwood who used heads-up base running to score on a squeeze play. Fleetwood started the two-run third inning for the Rams with another leadoff hit before scoring on a sacrifice bunt. A sacrifice fly from Maegan Walding plated the final run of the game. 

Caitlin Perry (SR/Montgomery, Ala.) threw six innings and struck out seven while scattering five hits and allowing all three earned runs. 

Faulkner could not advance a runner past second in the loss. Ashton Fielding (JR/Rockford, Ala.) had a double and singles came from Abby Tindol (FR/Billingsley, Ala.) and Abbigail Barron (JR/Panama City, Fla.). 

The Lady Eagles will have to respond quickly, facing the Cinderella story Stillman Lady Tigers who have won two upset games in the loser's bracket after dropping their first game as the nine seed just thirty minutes after the conclusion of this loss.
