Despite 14 combined hits in the contest, Faulkner delivered timely hits to strike midnight on the Cinderella Stillman squad in a low-scoring 2-1 victory in Game 12 of the SSAC Softball Championship. 

Shelbie Burbage started the contest with an infield single in the first. Taylor Parker advanced the centerfielder with a sacrifice bunt before Kendall Bennett drove home Burbage on a single to left-center. Stillman answered back in the top of the second to knot the game at one with three singles.

The deadheat did not last long, however. With one out and a 1-2 count, Courtney Ray blasted a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the second, scoring what would be the eventual game winning run. 

The Lady Eagles thwarted a late challenge from the Lady Tigers in the seventh stranding the potential tying run on second to seal the contest.

Bailey Whitfield tossed six plus innings of work allowing just one run and striking out one in the win. Caitlin Perry earned the save with one inning of clean pitching, picking up a strikeout in the process. 

Faulkner will face the winner of Martin Methodist and Bethel at 5 p.m. in another elimination game.
