A late rally attempt from the Lady Eagles was not enough to overcome an early deficit as they fell 8-3 to the Redhawks in Game 14 of the SSAC Softball Championship, ending their 2019 campaign. Faulkner concludes its season with a 27-23 record and fourth in the league tournament. 

Martin Methodist opened the scoring in the second plating four runs on just one hit with an error and added two more in the fifth. 

Julianne Wilkes (JR/Deatsville, Ala.) drew a one out walk in the top of the sixth. Base hits from Shelbie Burbage (SO/Prattville, Ala.) and Taylor Parker (JR/Corner, Ala.) loaded the bases for Abbigail Barron (JR/Panama City, Fla.). Barron drew a walk to score Wilkes. Kendall Bennett (JR/Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.) then stepped to the plate and brought in Burbage on a fielder's choice to cut the score down to 6-2. 

However, the Redhawks responded with two more of their own in the bottom half to make the seventh inning mountain a tad bit higher. 

Caity Jo Lee (SO/Wetumpka, Ala.) took advantage of a dropped fly in left field to reach with one out. Brianna Cagle (SO/Decatur, Ala.)'s single advanced Lee before Burbage's single drove the second baseman home for what would be the final run of the game. 

Burbage ended the contest two for four with an RBI and a run. 

Caitlin Perry (SR/Montgomery, Ala.) completed her Lady Eagle tenure striking out three batters over six innings and allowing five earned runs.
