Zack Glines (SR/Dalton, Ga.) and Chandler Harnage matched one another frame for frame in the opener as Faulkner squeaked out a 1-0 win thanks to an unearned run. Faulkner got the lone run of the game in the bottom of the third inning. Jonathan Villa (SR/Ensenada, Mexico) drew a leadoff walk and gave way to courtesy runner DeJhard Kimbrough (SR/Atlanta, Ga.). The speedy senior proceeded to steal second and third before scoring on an error.

Lindsey Wilson erased the deficit in the top of the third when Chance Stayton notched a leadoff single up the middle and gave way to courtesy runner Cody Fallon. Dillan Saunders found a bunt single that moved Fallon to third. Tyler Maskill finished manufacturing the run with a sacrifice fly to center that tied the game.
The Eagles took the lead right back in the home half of the frame. Villa drew a walk and gave way to courtesy runner Justin Lara (SR/Coconut Creek, Fla.). The swift-footed outfielder then stole second and third before scoring on a sacrifice fly from Moralez.
