MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner's 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-12) sweep of Middle Georgia pushed the win streak to four Tuesday night in Tine Davis Gymnasium led by the lone senior
Kortney Barnes.
The attack continued to thrive for the Lady Eagles (8-7, 6-3 SSAC) as they hit .350 with 46 kills with Barnes earning 11 on 14 attacks for an insane .714 percentage. The middle from Mobile parried two Knight attacks alone and assisted on one other. Faulkner tallied more kills than Middle Georgia recorded digs.Â
The three kill leaders all hit over .300 as
Alysa Vinson hit 9 on 20 attacks and
Alexis McInroy 8 on 18.Â
Leading 21-19 in the opening set, Vinson's kill started a 4-0 closing run with two kills from McInroy.
Alli Grendow's service error for the visitors with the Knights leading 10-9 started a 10-2 run for the Lady Eagles who flew away for the rest of the match.
Tori Renda entered everyone into the third set and her squad continued the form, hitting .343 as a team and holding Middle Georgia to a negative percentage while running its set lead as high as 14.Â
The reigning SSAC Setter of the Week
Alyssa Stagner recorded a double-double with 22 assists and 14 digs, leading the Lady Eagles in both categories. Vinson finished one kill shy of a double-double with 13 digs and
Jordan Stewart scooped 10.
Mallory Black and Vinson each picked up three assisted blocks.
Faulkner travels to Temple Terrace, Fla. to take on Florida College Thursday night in a three conference match road trip over five days.Â
