Box Score MOBILE, Ala. – Middle Georgia State needed to beat Faulkner Saturday to move out of the elimination bracket and force a Sunday rematch in the SSAC Baseball Championship semifinals. Middle Georgia proceeded to put together 16 hits and take advantage of six Faulkner errors to win 14-2.
The Eagles' only runs in the game came off an
Isaac Phillips single in the bottom of the eighth inning to cut the deficit to 6-2 and give Faulkner a chance. The Knights responded with eight runs in the top of the ninth to put the game away.
Tyberrius Correa worked seven a third innings while allowing four earned runs in the loss. Faulkner (34-8) takes on Middle Georgia State again Sunday at 10 a.m.
