Faulkner struck first as
Peyton Davis homered in the second inning to put the Eagles up 1-0.
Evan Gilliam singled in
Juan Trinidad in the third to stretch the lead to 2-0. After St. Thomas got a run in the home half of the third,
Shawn Ross stroked a sacrifice fly to center to drive in Gilliam and leave the lead at 3-1.
A Robin Fernandez homer in the fifth briefly narrowed the Eagle advantage to 3-2.
Tommy Reyes-Cruz drove in Davis with a sacrifice fly in the sixth to move the lead to 4-2. St. Thomas followed with a run in each of the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings to hold a 5-4 lead heading into the ninth.
J.C. Toro worked six innings while allowing four earned runs and striking out three.
Nicholas Graham (0-1) fanned two over two and a third innings of work in the loss.
