HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Faulkner wrapped up a dismal road trip Saturday with a pair of losses against the No. 7 team in the country. The sweep punctuated four games in two days against the No. 6 and No. 7 ranked teams nationally, performances that tallied just four runs in the quartet of contests for Faulkner.

Shelbie Burbage in the fourth to narrow the deficit. The run proved the only one of the day for Faulkner. The Crusaders fought back for two runs in the fourth and finished the game in the seventh by stranding two Faulkner runners.

William Carey scored a run in the first, two in the third, two in the fourth and three in the fifth in game two of the day. Faulkner's defense proved abysmal in the contest as they committed six errors in five innings, resulting in seven of the eight runs being unearned. The defensive showing moved Faulkner's error total for the weekend to 12.
Faulkner (15-9, 5-5 SSAC) returns home Tuesday to face Southeastern Baptist at 2 p.m.
