MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Ryan Wilson of Middle Georgia State was named SSAC Baseball Player of the Week and July Sosa of Faulkner (Ala.) was named SSAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
 
The awards are based on performance for the week of March 21-27.
 
Ryan Wilson (Middle Georgia – SO – 1B – McDonough, Ga.)
 
·      In four games, Wilson hit .600, posted a .667 OBP and slugged 1.333 as Middle Georgia won all four
·      He totaled nine hits, nine runs, three home runs and 11 RBIs
·      Against Reinhardt, he went 3-for-3 with two homers, four RBIs and three runs and in game one v. Thomas, he went 3-for-4 with three runs, a triple, a homer and six RBIs
 
July Sosa (Faulkner – SR – RHP – Bronx, N.Y.)
 
·      Sosa wins the award for the fourth-straight week
·      In a win over Blue Mountain, Sosa tossed seven innings of two-hit, shutout ball, walking only one and striking out 12
·      He faced two batters above the minimum and lowered his season ERA to 0.97
