MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Faulkner got off the deck late against Reinhardt Tuesday night, scoring eight unanswered to win 8-7.
The Eagles had just one hit through the first five and a half innings of play before scratching out offense in the sixth.
Ben Hargis scored on a wild pitch to narrow it to 7-1.
Jordan Funk later singled in
Justice Lucas to make it 7-2 before
Evan Gilliam slid home on a throwing error.
With the game still 7-3, the Eagles kept the pressure on in the eighth as
Alex Arauz singled in
Juan Trinidad. Lucas then singled in
Shawn Ross to make it 7-5.
Patrick McCarthy then sent
Kevin Saenz to the plate in a pinch-hit scenario. He saw just one pitch and stroked it over the left field foul poll for a three-run shot for the decisive swing of the game.
Hunter Dupuy (3-1) worked two and two-thirds innings of relief, allowing one earned run in the process to notch the win.
Nicholas Graham worked a scoreless eighth before
July Sosa (1) pitched a perfect ninth for the save.
Faulkner (19-10) travels to Stillman Friday for a three-game SSAC set.
