MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Faulkner rallied in game two Tuesday to salvage an series split with SSAC foe Talladega and avoid a sour senior day in its final scheduled home game of 2022.
TALLADEGA 3, FAULKNER 1
The Lady Eagles took the early lead in game one as
Caity Jo Lee flied out to left to drive in
Brianna Cagle and put Faulkner up 1-0. The game stayed there until the fifth when Lisuanet Flores grounded to second to plate the tying run in Michaela Evans.
Things unraveled for Faulkner in the seventh when Krishundria Whetstone scored on a throwing error before Aniyah Easley made her way home on a Gabriela Garcia single to put the Tornadoes up 3-1.
Meagan Schwieterman (10-7) suffered the loss despite allowing just one earned run over seven innings. She struck out seven batters while scattering five hits and three walks.
FAULKNER 8, TALLADEGA 0 (5 INNINGS)
The second game of the day told a much different tale for Faulkner as it hung eight runs on the board over four innings to win going away in an abbreviated contest. Lee scored on a throwing error in the first before

Tara Ammons to make it 2-0.
Kaileigh Harrison ripped a two-run single in the second to score Cagle and
Taylor Ammons for the 4-0 advantage.
Shelbie Burbage followed with a grounder to short to plate Harrison.
Taylor Ammons scored on an error in the fourth before Cagle made her way home on a wild pitch to make it 7-0. Lee singled in Burbage to account for the final run.
Nicole Morrison (3-0) got the job done in the circle for Faulkner, striking out four batters over five innings of work while scattering four hits and a walk.
Faulkner (23-15, 11-11 SSAC) continues its busy week Wednesday when it travels to Brenau. The Lady Eagle have trips to Middle Georgia State and Brewton-Parker slated for Friday and Saturday. There also exists the possibility of a makeup date against Mobile following last week's weather-related postponement.
