MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner Baseball and Head Coach
Patrick McCarthy unveiled its 2025 schedule featuring 18 games against teams in the 2024 NAIA National Tournament and 25 of the 49 games presently on the slate in the confines of Harrison Field where the Eagles carry a 349-90 record under the skipper entering his 16th season leading the program.
Faulkner opens its season with a trip to UAH on February 4 to take on the Chargers for the first time since 2011 and the first game in Huntsville against the NCAA D2 side since 2004.
The Eagles continue the road swing to open the year with a four-game weekend set in Cleveland, Ga. against Truett-McConnell February 7-8 before returning home for a 10-game home stand starting with the return trip from the Chargers on February 11. Valentine's Day weekend will consist of a twin bill with former SSAC rival Bethel (Tenn.) on February 14 and a visit from the St. Francis (Ind.) Cougars on February 16 ahead of a midweek two-foe matchup with sister school Freed-Hardeman followed by NAIA semifinalist last season Reinhardt on the 18th.
Southern States Athletic Conference play opens up February 21-22 against Tennessee Southern with a three-game series featuring one game Friday and two Saturday to wrap up the lengthy home stand ahead of opening a seven game away streak with a single game against Bryan on February 25.
Faulkner hits back-to-back road SSAC weekends against Thomas and Blue Mountain on the last weekend of February and the first weekend of March before returning home to take on (RV) Talladega in a midweek doubleheader before new conference foe Abraham Baldwin rolls into town March 14-15 and Bryan returns the trip on March 19. The six game stretch interrupts a run of otherwise 16 road games.
The Eagles start the second stretch of nine straight road games, featuring seven in Georgia, with a March 21-22 conference series at Brewton-Parker before returning a midweek doubleheader at (RV) Talladega March 25. Faulkner looks to avenge its only regular season series loss of last season at Point March 28-29 and concluding with a road game at No. 6 Reinhardt on April 1.
Faulkner's April schedule carries on with huge SSAC weekends hosting Middle Georgia April 4-5, No. 9 William Carey April 11-12 and Mobile April 24-25 with a trip to the Big Easy to take on No. 21 Loyola April 18-19.
The SSAC Baseball Championship will be back at Rockabily's Stadium in Jackson, Tenn. April 30-May 3. The NAIA Opening Round is set for May 12-15 at campus sites to be determined with the Avista NAIA World Series set for May 23-31 in Lewiston, Idaho.
