MONTGOMERY - Ala. Faulkner swept the Oakwood Ambassadors in dominant fashion Friday afternoon with a 5-1 game one and a five inning 8-0 game two.

Faulkner struck early in the top of the first inning scoring three runs with just one out to go. Anna Purvis notched the first mark on the scoreboard with a single up the middle. Gracie Pittman reached after being hit by pitch. Erika Mitchell hit an RBI single deep into left and advanced to second on the throw to home. Purvis scored and Pittman reached third. Ivey Hill drove in the deciding run and brought home Mitchell and Pittman with a 2 RBI single up the middle.Â
The Lady Eagles added a pair of insurance runs in the top of the second and the top of the seventh with a couple of RBI singles from Chloe Davidson. Oakwood scored their lone run of the day in the bottom of the sixth inning with an RBI single.
Julianna Thames (1-1) led the defensive effort with all seven innings of work and struck out nine walked six and allowed one hit and one earned run.Â

The Lady Eagles began game two with an offensive onslaught and scored eight runs over two innings. Davidson started the top of the first inning strong with a single and a stolen base. Anna Catherine Segrest followed with a ground out to third base that advanced Davidson. Pittman hit an RBI double deep into center to score Davidson. Madelyn Becker reached on a walk. AnnaMarie Stooksbury followed with an RBI single to left center to score Pittman and advance Becker. Sarah Williams hit a single right up the middle and scored Becker for another RBI.
The Lady Eagles picked up where they left off in the top of the second. Markie Hicks reached on a two base error from a dropped fly ball courtesy of the right fielder. Kaileigh Harrison hit a single up the middle and scored Hicks. Davidson hit a single to advance Harrison to second. Harrison and Davidson stole third and second base respectively. Davidson advanced to third and Harrison scored on the wild pitch. Segrest reached on a well placed bunt single and stole second. Pittman hit her second 2 RBI double in just as many innings and brought home Davidson and Segrest. Pittman stole third and scored on the overthrown ball from behind the plate.
Hill worked all five innings and only allowed two hits. The game two starter struck out five walked three and did not allow any scores.Â
Faulkner (3-1) will host Brewton-Parker Friday at 2:30 p.m. for its home opener and first conference game of the season.Â
