PULASKI, Tenn. – A tough offensive outing for No. 10 Faulkner resulted in a doubleheader split Saturday as Faulkner took the opening game 6-4 and dropped the nightcap 10-0.

The Eagles scored four runs in the first inning of game one despite recording no hits in the frame. Two walks and an error loaded the bases for Eduarny Martinez, who took a hit-by-pitch to drive in
Evan Gilliam for the 1-0 lead.

The Firehawks got a run back in the second and another in the fourth. Faulkner moved the lead to 5-2 in the sixth when A walk, a hit-by-pitch, a wild pitch and a balk allowed
Jack Brinkley to score. The Eagles got one more in the seventh as a Martinez walk and a
Christian Webb single followed by a Soriano walk loaded the bases again.
Tuane Cope later scored on a wild pitch for the 6-2 lead. UTS got two back on a double in the home half of the seventh but drew no closer than 6-4.
Gilliam recorded Faulkner's first hit in the fourth with a single to right. The Eagles notched just two safeties in the game while drawing 10 walks.
Marco Ozuna (7-0) struck out six over five while walking two and scattering six hits for the victory.

The final game of the day saw Faulkner manage just one hit on a Lopez single to left in the fourth. Tray Lacy confounded the Eagles for the entirety of the contest, fanning 10 over seven innings of work while issuing only two walks and allowing just the one single.
The Firehawks made the performance stand up by posting three runs in the first, five in the second and two in the seventh.
Faulkner (19-7, 10-4 SSAC) looks to wrap the series Sunday at 1 p.m.
