Cochran, Ga. - Faulkner traveled to Middle Georgia State on Saturday for an SSAC doubleheader series. The Knights took the sweep over the Lady Eagles. The final scores for the day were 4-3 in game one, and 3-0 in game two.
Middle Georgia 4, Faulkner 3
Middle Georgia took game one 4-3 after seven innings. The Knights put up two runs in the bottom of the first inning. The game sat 2-0 until the bottom of the third, where Middle Georgia tacked on two more runs to put the Knights up 4-0.
For two more innings, the Lady Eagles remained down four. In the top of the sixth inning,
Madelyn Becker took the box. Becker homered with
Chloe Davidson on third for a two-run RBI. The hit put the Lady Eagles down two.
Ashtyn Pannell then scored off an RBI single from
Abby Terrell. Faulkner pulled within one run.
The sixth inning ended after both teams kept any further runs on the board, and the score stood 4-3 in favor of the Knights.
The Lady Eagles took the box in the top of the seventh, looking to gain the lead. Unfortunately, Faulkner fell short, and the Knights pulled out game one with the final score of 4-3.
Faulkner had seven hits in the game.
Chloe Davidson had two of her own.

Ivey Hill started for the Lady Eagles inside the circle. Hill threw for three strikeouts and pitched through three innings.
Katelynn Inness relieved Hill to finish the game. Inness threw for six strikeouts and allowed zero earned runs.
Middle Georgia 3, Faulkner 0
In game two the Knights picked up the series sweep with the win over the Lady Eagles. The final score after six and a half innings was 3-0.
The game remained tied at zero for three innings. In the bottom of the fourth, Middle Georgia put two on the board for the first runs in the game. In the bottom of the sixth, the Knights tacked on one more run for the remaining points of the game. Faulkner came up short with no runs on the board in the top of the seventh to try for extra innings.
Faulkner had four hits in the game.

Katelynn Inness started for the Lady Eagles on the mound. She threw for one strikeout and only one earned run after four innings.
Hailey O'Brien relieved her for the remaining two innings. She allowed zero walks and zero earned runs.
Faulkner (20-15. SSAC 13-9) returns to the diamond when they travel to Mobile for a pair of non-conference games. Game one is set for 2 pm.
