Mobile, Ala. - The Lady Eagles traveled to #14Mobile on Tuesday afternoon for a pair of non-conference games against a familiar foe. Mobile picked up the sweep with a 5-3 score in game one and a 3-1 score in game two.
Mobile 5, Faulkner 3
The Rams took game one 5-3 after seven innings of play. Mobile started the game with two runs in the bottom of the first after a two-run RBI from Emily Butts. The game remained 2-0 until the bottom of the third inning when Butts pushed the lead to three with a solo home run to left-center.
In the top of the fourth, Gracie Pittman answered with a solo shot over the fence to put the Lady Eagles on the board. The score sat 3-1 after four innings of work.
The fifth inning saw zero runs scored, and the game headed to the sixth. The Rams kept Faulkner from adding any points. In the bottom half, Mobile tacked on two more runs off back-to-back RBI doubles from Jill Robinson and Kristen Black.
The Lady Eagles were down 5-1 heading to the top of the seventh. Faulkner needed some big bats to pick up the comeback or at least push the game to extra innings. Faulkner loaded the bases after a string of hits from the Lady Eagles.
Chloe Davidson took to the plate and singled for an RBI.
Abby Terrell scored from third to bring the score to 5-2. The next at-bat
Anna Catherine Segrest singled to center field for the RBI and a score for
Eavie Polk from third.
The Lady Eagles trailed 5-3 with the bases loaded for the third time in the inning. They faced a new pitcher in Avery Harrell. She relieved Emily Butts after six and one-third innings of work. Faulkner was working on a 5-1 comeback, but the Rams spoiled the day with two quick outs. Mobile picked up game one with a final score of 5-3.
Ivey Hill started for the Lady Eagles inside the circle in game one. She pitched a complete game with only two earned runs.

Mobile picked up game two and the season series with a 3-1 win in game two of the non-conference doubleheader with Faulkner.
In game two, scoring was hard to come by through two and a half innings as the game remained tied at zero. In the bottom of the third, the Rams scored the first run of the game. Breanna Green scored off the RBI walk by Bethany Dean.
The Lady Eagles quickly responded in the top of the fourth with a solo homer from
Madelyn Becker to tie the game 1-1.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Rams took the lead with two RBIs to put Mobile up 3-1.
The Lady Eagles were down two at the top of the seventh and looked to push the game to the bottom frame. The Rams pulled out the sweep with three straight outs, and the final score stood 3-1.
Chloe Davidson took the mound for the Lady Eagles in game two. Davidson pitched a complete game with two strikeouts and one earned run.
Faulkner (20-17, SSAC 13-9) returns to action at Wynn Field on Friday for a non-conference doubleheader against Oakwood. 1 pm for the start time.
