HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - A tough start to the game was too much to overcome Tuesday in midweek action at NCAA D1 Alabama A&M as the Eagles fell 10-3 to snap a seven game win streak.
Juan Trinidad drove in
Evan Gilliam to take a 1-0 lead over the Bulldogs, but Faulkner could not find a way off the field in the bottom half as the hosts scored six runs on five hits. In the bottom of the third, Alabama A&M scored three more to pull even further away before a bottom fourth inning run put them into double figures.Â
Drew Mackie's two RBI single pushed it to 10-3 but Faulkner could not score any more.Â
Henry Thornton and
Kelton Pilkinton each turned in an inning of shutout pitching and
Jordan Destefano gave two innings of the same. After a tough first inning,
Alexis Saldana pitched a good second inning before giving way for
Evan Valencia who had a similar pattern.Â
Faulkner pitchers walked eight batters and the batters drew just one walk
The Eagles still hold a three game lead in the SSAC with six games to go. Three will be played this weekend, starting with a single game against Middle Georgia Friday at 3 p.m.
