Thomasville, Ga. - Faulkner traveled to Thomas to take on the NightHawks for their last doubleheader series of the regular season on Friday afternoon. The two teams split the series after Thomas beat the Lady Eagles 3-0 in game one. The Lady Eagles avoided the sweep in game two with a win. The final score was 3-1.

In game one, the runs were hard to come by as two and a half innings went by with zero points scored.
In the bottom of the third, the NightHawks scored the first runs. Averie Sheppard scored the first run off an error. Adreanna Killingsworth hit a two-run RBI to put Thomas up 3-0.
For the remainder of the game, there were no runs scored. Despite Faulkner having seven hits, they didn't pull off the game-one comeback. Chloe Davidson had three hits in the game. Ivey Hill had two of her own. Erika Mitchell and Eavie Polk had one hit each.
Katelynn Inness started for the Lady Eagles inside the circle in game one. She threw seven strikeouts through six innings of work. She allowed only two earned runs.

Game two saw no difference, as the runs were hard to come by. Until the bottom of the fourth when Thomas put up the first point. Maggie Colgan scored the first run off an error
The next inning would see zero runs scored and headed to the top of the sixth.
With Faulkner up to bat and down 1, Sarah Williams took the plate. She doubled for a two-run RBI to send Anna Purvis and Brianna Boyd home for the 2-1 lead.
On the next at-bat, Abby Terrell singled to right field for an RBI. AnnaMarie Stooksbury scored from third to put the Lady Eagles up 3-1 and the final points. The Lady Eagles kept the NightHawks from scoring any more runs and pulled out the series split. The final score was 3-1.
The Lady Eagles had six hits in game two. Chloe Davidson, Anna Purvis, Erika Mitchell, Sarah Williams, Abby Terrell and Kaileigh Harrison had one hit each.
Ivey Hill started inside the circle in game two. She picked up her eighth win of the season. She had six innings of work while allowing zero earned runs and only three hits.
The Lady Eagles (25-18, SSAC 16-10) wrapped up the regular season with the trip to Thomas. They now start their journey in the SSAC Softball Championship on Thursday, May 2nd in Decatur, Ala, at the Wilson Morgan Softball Complex. The final standings and tournament seeds have yet to be determined. There are a few series within the conference taking place still. As of now, Faulkner sits in the fifth spot. If that holds through, the Lady Eagles will play the number four team on Thursday at noon. As of now, that will most likely be Stillman College. Once the final standings are out, the information will be posted to Faulkner's social media, and the schedule will be updated on the website.
