GULF SHORES, Ala. – Faulkner went 1-1 in Gulf Coast Invitational action Saturday as it moved to 2-2 for the weekend and 12-4 on the season.

Faulkner opened the scoring in the first inning with a
Chloe Davidson single followed by an
Anna Catherine Segrest sacrifice bunt.
Abby Terrell later drove her in for the 1-0 lead over William Woods. The Owls took advantage of two walks and two errors in the second inning to get a pair of runs across and take a 2-1 lead. Three more walks in the bottom of the third set William Woods up for a big inning. The Owls cashed in on the opportunity with singles from Mariah Prince and Addie Rhea cashed to move the advantage to 5-1. The score stayed there until the top of the fifth when Faulkner turned the game upside down by sending 13 batters to the plate and scoring seven runs.
Davidson ignited the rally with a single before Segrest reached on an error.
Addyson Jarman followed with a single to load the bases.
Gracie Pittman hit a grounder to short to drive in Davidson and cut it to 5-2. After Pittman reached on an error, she gave way to courtesy runner
Eavie Polk. Terrell singled to left to drive in Segrest and narrow it to 5-3 before
Sarah Williams grounded to third to get another run home and make it 5-4.
Allie Wismer singled in a run to tie the game. Johnson and Wismer later scored before Segrest singled in
Campbell Hecklinski for the 8-5 lead.
The Owls got two runs back in the bottom of the fifth when Sammy Lohnes ripped a two-run double to center.
Hailey O'Brien (5-2) locked in during the sixth and seventh innings, allowing no hits during that span while scattering two walks and striking out three to get the win. She fanned seven batters over 4.2 innings of work while giving up just one hit.
LINDSEY WILSON 7, FAULKNER 2
Faulkner led only briefly in game two of the day as a Jarman double in the first scored Segrest and put the Lady Eagles up 1-0. The lead was short-lived as a Kaiden Rodgers homer in the second tied the game. Sam Hartman launched a two-run blast in the third to put the Blue Raiders up 3-1. A Rodgers double in the fifth moved it to 4-1.
Madelyn Becker tried to get Faulkner back in it with a solo homer in the sixth, but Lindsey Wilson hung a three-spot in the seventh to effectively put the game away.
Faulkner (12-4) wraps GCI action Sunday at 11:15 a.m. when it faces No. 8 Central Methodist.
