MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Faulkner men's and women's cross country programs have released their schedule for the upcoming 2025 season, the fourth since relaunching the programs in 2022 and the first of the Caleb Kilpatrick era.
As they have for the last three years, the Eagles and Lady Eagles open up the fall slate with the Foothills Invitational hosted by Jacksonville State on August 29 at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala. Both squads will run a 5K in the evening, men at 5:30 and women at 6:15, on the famed picturesque courses.
On the evening of September 12, Faulkner heads to Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla., for the first time to participate in the Hoka Nights of Thunder college event, where the University of Louisiana will serve as host. The men will run an 8K while the women will run a 5K.
Eight days later, the Eagles head to the site of the SSAC Championships, the Oakville Indian Mounds in Danville, Ala., for the Firehawk Invitational hosted by conference rival UT Southern. Faulkner last participated in the event in 2023 when UTS held the event in Florence, Ala. It will be the teams' first of three morning meets to close the regular season. The men will run an 8K at 8:30 am and the women will follow at 9:20 with a 6K, the distances the teams will run through the end of the season.
Faulkner starts off the penultimate month of the season with the Cross Country Meeting at Berry College outside of Rome, Ga., as the men begin at 9 am ET/8 am CT and the women come after at 9:45 am ET/8:45 am CT. The teams then travel to Clinton, Miss., at Mississippi College's Choctaw Trails on October 17 for the Watson Collegiate Cross Country Classic, their final regular season meet, where the men will run at 8 am and the women at 8:50 am.
From there, it's back to Danville for the SSAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships on November 7. With high achievement there, the final stop of the fall will be back in Tallahassee for the NAIA Men's and Women's Championships two weeks later.
