TIFTON, Ga. - For the second time in four games, the Eagles broke the century mark as
Kamal Green II's 21 points led the scoring effort that saw six different Eagles in double figures in a 104-79 win over Abraham Baldwin Thursday evening in Gressette Gym. The Eagles once again showed they are one of the nation's best rebounding teams, grabbing 18 more boards than the Stallions.
The offensive effort was fueled by clinical efficiency inside the arc, shooting 39-57 (68.4 percent) from two-point territory. The second half alone featured a 22-31 shooting performance from short range, hitting nearly 71 percent of such shots.Â
ABAC trailed by just seven with 11:52 to play in the first half, but the Eagles scored four buckets in the paint to take a 26-11 lead just three minutes later. Faulkner's lead never got within single-digits again as the Eagles won their fourth game by 18 or more points in its last five.Â
The Eagles balanced the minutes with only
Levi White,
Francois-Dony Baba and
Malachi Smith hitting the 20 minute mark and 10 different players with at least 15 minutes on the floor.Â
White was second on the team with 16 points, tying his career high in his freshman campaign. Baba added 13,
KJ Rogers 12,
Gabriel Rivera 11 and
Jordyn Turner-Durley with 10.Â
Tanner Vogel led with 12 rebounds, making it four of the last five games with double-digit boards and five of the last seven with 10 in the first half before playing just five minutes in the second.Â
Turner-Durley, Baba and
Micah Thomas each had three assists.Â
White led the defensive end with three steals and two blocks. Rogers also had three steals.Â
The game marked the first time since 2022-2023 that the Eagles broke 100 in two games in the same season.
The Eagles improved to 9-3 in the conference and 15-7 overall and earned
Scott Sanderson his 249th win at Faulkner.Â
Faulkner travels to Thomas to take on the Night Hawks Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. central for the second of the four-game road swing.Â
