WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - It all comes down to today's battle in sultry central Florida. Underdog No. 25 and No. 3 seed Faulkner (37-14) punched its ticket to the NAIA Softball Championship Opening Round finals with a dominant 5-0 first-round win over No. 14 and No. 2 seed Evangel (44-10) on Monday before holding on defensively for a 3-2 semifinal victory over No. 3 nationally and hosting top seed Southeastern (45-8) yesterday.

Now, as the only undefeated team left in the Winter Haven Opening Round, Faulkner will watch to see who between Southeastern and Evangel wins in the elimination semifinals today at 11 am CT, as it plays the winner for a spot in the NAIA Softball World Series in Columbus, Ga.
Whoever the Lady Eagles face, they are in for another challenge against game squads in the Fire and Valor, ranking among the best in the NAIA in batting and pitching. And they've seen Faulkner up close and personal once already.
Faulkner is on the brink of making history and putting on the glass slipper once more. Southeastern or Evangel? Will Cinderella finish the dance, or will the clock strike midnight? Either way, these Lady Eagles aren't done yet.
They play the other team left standing at 1:30 pm CT. A loss in that game will send the teams to the If Necessary game on Thursday at 11 am.
