Davidson repeats as SB Scholar-Athlete of the Year, two more place on team

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The SSAC announced the 2026 Softball Scholar-Athlete Team. Chloe Davidson has earned the honor of SSAC Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year for a second consecutive year. Sarah Williams and Addyson Jarman have also earned spots on the team, as all three student-athletes achieved greatness in the classroom as well as the field, where they earned First Team All-SSAC plaudits on their way to helping lead Faulkner to its first NAIA Opening Round bid in eight seasons.

Maintaining a 3.97 GPA while majoring in Health Sciences, Davidson led the SSAC in batting average for a second straight year as well. The senior second baseman and pitcher hit .442 while missing three games and racked up 72 hits, 36 runs scored and 23 RBI to go with a .552 slugging percentage and .503 on-base mark to also earn SSAC Player of the Year honors for back-to-back seasons in wrapping up her college career.

Williams holds a perfect 4.0 GPA as a Health Sciences major on the Occupational Therapy track as she has finished her undergraduate studies and will return for her senior year as she begins graduate school. Starting all 53 games at either catcher or first base, she batted .429 with 66 hits, 18 of the extra-base variety, with 47 RBI and 17 runs scored for a slugging mark of .571 and an on-base percentage of .466.

In her first year of eligibility for the award, Jarman places on the Scholar-Athlete Team, as the sophomore centerfielder holds a 3.98 GPA as an Exercise Science major on the Physical Therapy track. She batted .397 across all 53 games with 69 hits, 52 RBI and 47 runs scored to go for a .421 on-base percentage with 24 stolen bases. However, her biggest impact came in her 29 extra-base hits, including 11 home runs, as she slugged .701.
