MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Eagles drew UT Southern in a big SSAC matchup Saturday night as both teams peppered the goal but found just one tally each in a 1-1 result at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium.
The first half featured six shots each but no breakthrough with the biggest moment coming from a huge save from the National Player of the Week Louis Hester in the 15th minute on
Konsti Witte's shot from a backheel pass from
Angel Ugwumba from a long ball by
Miguel Romero.
The Eagles struck first in the 52nd minute when
Nicolas Tamayo laced a long ball towards Ugwumba who brought it down and thundered it to the opposite post for his ninth goal of the season.Â
UTS scored the equalizer off their fourth own goal of the season in their favor in the 63rd.Â
Faulkner moves to 2-1-2 in SSAC play on the season and will hit the road to Brewton-Parker Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. central kickoff.
