CLINTON, Miss. - Faulkner cross country wrapped up its regular season at the 2025 Watson Collegiate XC Classic hosted by NCAA DII Mississippi College at the Choctaw Trails. The women finished 14th and the men came in 16th in a field predominantly comprised of NCAA programs of all three divisions.
Chloe Helms was the lone top 20 finisher for the Lady Eagles as she came in 19th out of 172 runners with a 23:15.7, which would have been the top 6K time in program history if not for her 22:44.86 time in the Firehawk Invitational last month. Avery Rogers was the next Faulkner finisher, 40 spots behind Helms with a 25:19.9. It was the fourth best 6K time in Lady Eagle history, good for a personal record after her previous fourth-best time of 25:26 in the SSAC Championship last year. Sarah Lorimor also earned a PR as finisher 133 with a 29:42.6 time. Claudia Velazquez was ten spots behind her with a 30:52, and Saryah Martin was five behind Velazquez with a 31:43.4.
David Robles paced the men with the third-best 8K time in Eagles history with a 26:27.1 to place 43rd. The top four marks are all owned by the Wallace-Hanceville transfer, as today's mark is one second above his Hoka Nights of Thunder time and only behind his times in the Eagles' previous two meets. The second Faulkner finisher came in 87th, as Cole Charles earned a PR with a 27:53.3. Brodie Moore was next as the 128th finisher with a 29:02.9, and Creed Spivey was ten spots behind him with a 29:19.4. 20 spots behind Spivey came Carson Roberson with a season-best time of 30:19.7. Cam Waters was 15 spots after Roberson. The latter earned the last Eagle PR of the day with a 31:06, and Lane Berry-Kilpatrick wrapped up the team 20 spots back of Waters with a 34:37.9.
The final scheduled stop of the season for the Eagles comes in three weeks in the SSAC Championship hosted at the Oakville Indian Mounds in Danville, Ala.
