MT. BERRY, Ga. - Eagles Cross Country reached new heights once again on Saturday morning for The XC Meeting on the campus of Berry College near Rome, Georgia. The women finished in fourth place out of eight teams in the 6K and the men were fifth out of 11 in the 8K, and to pace both squads, Chloe Helms and David Robles both set new program records for individual finish percentages as they came in at second and fourth place in their respective races.
Helms finished with a time of 23:36.97, coming in as the top student-athlete in the race as she was second only to Eyrn Lackey from the University of Georgia's club team. Avery Rogers was the other Lady Eagle in the top 15 as she came in 14th with a 26:26.62 time. Five NCAA Division III runners from Berry, three more Berry Alumni, two from UGA Club XC and one unaffiliated runner were all that separated Helms and Rogers. Sarah Lorimor was the 30th finisher with a 30:45 time, a personal record for her. Saryah Martin was four spots behind her with a 31:09 and Claudia Velazquez was four spots behind Martin with a 31:32. Martha Mendez came in at 51st with 33:57.
With a Berry alumnus coming in first in the men's event, Robles would have been the top student-athlete finisher if not for NCAA runners from NCAA DII Morehouse and DIII Berry and cleared the fifth-place finisher by just five seconds with a 26:15.89. Cole Charles was the other top 20 finisher for the Faulkner men, hitting that mark over the 21st finisher by exactly 26 seconds with a 28:06.66. Brodie Moore finished seven spots behind Charles with a 28:58.84, and Creed Spivey was six spots behind Moore with a 29:28.62. Carson Roberson was 58th with a 31:54.55 and Cam Waters was four spots behind him just shy of 32:30. Lane Berry-Kilpatrick was the final Eagle with a time of 34:14.66 in 71st place, and he and Waters both earned PRs.
Faulkner travels to Clinton, Miss., for the Watson Collegiate XC Classic on Oct. 17, its final regular season meet of 2025.
