MONTGOMERY, Ala. - For the first time since 2021, the Eagles are in the SSAC Semifinals following a 1-0 win over Mobile Thursday night at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium.
The clean sheet is the first since a 6-0 result over Point and the third of the season. It was the second time the Eagles have blanked the Rams, joining the 2016 quarterfinal victory in Mobile.Â
Angel Ugwumba took a shot 90 seconds in and saw his shot from the right side deflect in off the Mobile keeper for his 12th goal of the season, putting him alone for second in season goals, just one behind Antoine Marques's 2023 mark and giving him the most for a freshman in program history.Â
Faulkner held Mobile to just two shots on frame, both of which were saved by the NAIA Defensive Player of the Week
Andre Ferreira who has saved 90 percent of the shots he's faced in the last three matches.Â
The Eagles will rematch with William Carey Thursday night at the Emory Folmar Soccer Complex at 7 p.m. following the Crusaders resounding 4-1 win over Thomas.Â
