MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Coming off the program's first national tournament bid, the Eagles have unveiled a 2026 schedule that will certainly test if the team is worthy of a repeat trip featuring six national tournament teams from last season with a stretch of five in a row.
The Eagles open the season at home on August 22 at 11 a.m. against a rising New College of Florida side that finished 13-4-1 and fourth in the Sun Conference last season in just their third year as a program.
The Eagles then hit the road for a four neutral site contest swing. The stretch starts with a rematch against SCAD at Mobile's home field The Jungle on August 27 . This will mark the fifth straight season the teams have met. Last year's meeting turned into one of the most chaotic matches one will ever see as the Eagles lead 3-1 in the 75th minute before three goals in six minutes forced a 90th minute indirect free kick goal from
Konsti Witte to force a draw at the end.
Faulkner takes on Louisiana Christian two days later in Mobile as the two sides meet for the first time. LCU is one year removed from the national tournament and handed LSU Shreveport, the team that eliminated Faulkner last season in the national tournament, its only loss of the regular season. SCAD was in the Sun Conference championship match in 2024.
The following weekend, Faulkner travels to Life to take on St. Thomas and Keiser on Sept. 4 and 6 respectively. The Seahawks were the national fourth seed last season. St. Thomas is just two years removed from being national semifinalists and have had double-digit wins every year since 2019.
The Keiser contest starts the aforementioned run of five straight matches against teams in last season's national tournament as the final game before conference play begins.
Faulkner travels to Dalton State to open Southern States Athletic Conference action on Sept. 11 before a trip back to Life to take on the Running Eagles Sept. 13. Dalton State made the first round just one year removed from the national championship the year before and Life was knocked out in penalties in the NAIA Round of 16 last season.
After nearly a month on the road, the Eagles return to Billy D. Hilyer Stadium on Sept. 17 as they welcome new SSAC foe Xavier (La.) to town. The two met last year in a dramatic 3-2 Eagles win with a late winner from
Caden Maldonado. XULA won the RRAC Tournament Championship in double OT over LSUS. William Carey returns on Sept. 17 after last year's 2-1 Faulkner win, the highest ranked win in program history, but the Crusaders picked up a 2-1 win in the SSAC semifinals.
The home stretch continues as the Eagles welcome Brewton-Parker and Thomas the following weekend. The Sept. 24 matchup with the Barons will be the 24th meeting between the sides and the 11th at The Bill. Faulkner won the last two meetings with Thomas to snap an eight match winless streak against the Night Hawks.
The Eagles close out the home stretch hosting Mobile on Oct. 3. The Eagles picked up just the second win in program history in Mobile last year on
Juan Rojas's 86th minute winner before defeating the Rams in the SSAC quarters the next game 1-0 on a goal from
Angel Ugwumba.
