GREENWOOD, Ind. -
Asaph Silveira earned second team Academic All-America honors as selected by the Collegiate Sports Communicators for his performance on the field and in the classroom.
Silveira, a junior from Belo Horizonte, Brazil helped the Eagles to the first national tournament appearance in program history, scoring five goals and assisting four more with 1344 minutes played in the midfield to earn first team all-SSAC honors on the field.Â
Silveira carries a 3.64 GPA majoring in exercise science while studying in his second language and was recently honored on the all-district team before being voted onto the All-America side.Â
He becomes just the second Eagle to earn the second-team honor, joining Antoine Marques in 2023. Two other Eagles, Joe Hastings (2011) and Esolam Kpemoua (2012) earned third-team nods.Â
Silveira was the only SSAC Men's Soccer player on the 22-man list between the two teams that emerged from the 240 student-athletes who earned All-District honors.
