KANSAS CITY - Program history keeps getting rewritten this season and a new chapter was written Wednesday as
Rodolphe Cicala became the National Men's Golfer of the Week.
Cicala, a sophomore from Biarritz, France, became the first Eagle to win the award in program history as well as the first SSAC Golfer since Dalton State's Steve Kibare in 2022 following the conference tournament.
The French golfer earned the national honor after shattering the program record for score and shots to par in a 54 hole event with an 11-under-par 205 in the Ram Spring Invite with 16 birdies.
Since the event that won him this award, Cicala has also tied the program record with three consecutive individual tournament wins. The total number has been done before, first achieved by Daniel Jansen in the 2012-2013 season over the span of four events but never accomplished in a back-to-back-to-back fashion.
He has just once this season placed outside of the top five when he finished sixth but every other event has been on the podium.
The Clippd player rankings have Cicala as the No. 4 golfer in the NAIA as of March 5, 2025 which would match the highest ranking ever for a Faulkner Men's Golfer with Jansen in 2013-2014.
