Eagles place two in top three at first event

CANTON, Ga. - The Eagles started their 2024-25 season with an impressive showing in the Eagle's Open hosted by Reinhardt Monday and Tuesday finishing fourth of eight with a 21-over-par 873 over the three rounds at Lake Arrowhead Yacht and Country Club.

Faulkner placed two in the top three with Rodolphe Cicala finishing second with a five-under-par 208, fueled by a three-under-par 68 third round, shooting 14 birdies in the three rounds. It was his fourth top five finish and second-lowest score of his career thus far.

Gabriel Dulon wasted no time making an immediate mark on the Faulkner Men's Golf program, finishing third in a tie with UT Southern's Jacob Wilson with a three-under-par 210 led by a bogey-free two-under-par 69 in the second round.

Four of the other six A teams were either ranked or receiving votes including the tournament winners and No. 6 Lindsey Wilson who ran away from the field, 16 shots better than second place No. 21 Campbellsville, with a six-under-par 846 event led by individual medalist Rio Saigal who won the event by six strokes.

Juan Cespedes finished the event tied for 20th with a 10-over-par 223 with two eagles in the third round, carding a two on the par-four fifth hole and a three on the par-five 10th.

Garrett Jurkofsky shot a 19-over-par 231 to finish tied for 34th with an three-over-par 74 first round pacing his event.

Judson Graham also made his Faulkner debut and also had  a best round in the first shooting a 12-over-par 83 to finish with a 41-over-par 254.

The Eagles are next in action Sept. 23 when they head to the Invite at Innisbrook in Palm Harbor, Fla. hosted by the reigning national champions, Dalton State.
