VONORE, Tenn. -
Eden Shipp shot her best collegiate round Sunday afternoon en route to her first top 10 finish at the TWU Fall Invitational at the Links at Kahite this weekend.
Shipp, a native of Damascus, Arkansas, entered Sunday's round in a tie with teammate
Shelby Hughes and three others for 15th after a 12-over-par 84 but shot up the leaderboard on Sunday. Shipp started with a par but bogeyed the next two holes. However, she got back on track with back-to-back birdies to go back to even through five holes before getting par on six of the next eight holes to be three-over-par through 13. She closed the round with her career-best tournament round with an eight-over-par 80 to land in 10th of the 46 golfer field.
Hughes excelled on the par-fives, shooting even-par through the three par-five holes over the two round event and finished in the middle of the pack with a 30-over-par 174.Â
The Lady Eagles get ready for their final fall tournament next week with a trip to the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook to compete in the Invite at Innisbrook Sept. 29-30.
