MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Dalton State edged out William Carey for the No. 1 spot in the 2026-27 Southern States Athletic Conference Women's Golf Coaches' Preseason Poll. 
 
The Roadrunners have won four of the last six conference championships, with the Crusaders taking home the other two. 
 
Jim McGrew, Dalton State Head Coach: "It's always an honor when your peers show you respect based on what your program has done. We know this is about what last year's team was able to accomplish. We also know this is a new year, and we have a lot of work to do to live up to the respect we have been given. We are in a great conference, and we look forward to the challenge in front of us."
 
2027 SSAC Women's Golf Championship
