Revered for his acumen as a Bible scholar and teacher and noted for his nine postgraduate degrees, Furman Kearley is known throughout the churches of Christ and is still held in high esteem on multiple collegiate campuses associated with the faith. An avid supporter of America’s pastime, Kearley served as the inaugural baseball coach at Alabama Christian College. The Snowden, Ala. native passed away in 2003, leav- ing behind a legacy that includes the hard work it took to es- tablish the Eagle baseball program.
