The second volleyball coach in Faulkner history, Rayla Black helmed the program for five seasons amid a career of commitment to the university. She finished her coaching tenure with a career record of 138-102. Her 2001 squad finished at 32-14 overall and posted a perfect mark in GACC play while winning the second conference championship in program history and earning herself GACC Coach of the Year honors. During her five-season run, Faulkner players earned All-GACC honors 17 times while one garnered the first All-Region recognition in program history in 2001. She and her husband, Greg, have three children: Tucker, John Mark and Olivia Ann.
