Faulkner University

Johnson transferred from Calhoun Community College and started as a forward for two seasons on Tom Kelsey's men's basketball team. He was named to the 1991 NAIA All-District 27 Team. During his senior season, he helped lead Faulkner to its first national ranking in program history. That season also saw the Faulkner program earn its first district championship and its first NAIA National Tournament appearance. Johnson received his bachelor's degree in liberal arts in 1994.
